Framfield Allotments Association

Framfield Allotments Association manages Framfield Allotments on behalf of Ealing Council. The Association is run by a management committee, all of whom are volunteers, and supported by the many plot holders who help out at monthly work parties.

Framfield Allotments Association collects annual rents on behalf of the Council. The Council allows the Association to retain 15% of the amount collected. Like the other Associations in Ealing, we use this to fund repairs and improvements for the benefit of all of us, such as the new roof on the toilet block. We pay the rest of the rent collected (85%) to the Council.

Separately, Framfield Allotments Association charges a membership fee of £10 per year per plot. Membership allows members a vote at the AGM. Membership fees are used to pay for annual running costs, e.g. public liability insurance, fuel for grass cutting and especially for skips so that we can keep the site tidy.

Framfield Allotments Association was founded in 2007 with the following objectives:

To ensure good management of Framfield Allotments
To promote the interests of all plot holders in their gardening and cultivation activities, within the framework of the various Allotment Acts.
To promote and foster a safe, enthusiastic, attractive and inclusive allotment site that benefits plot holders, visitors and the local community.
To encourage plot holder involvement in the management and promotion of Framfield Allotments.
To safeguard the interests of plot holders and the allotment site itself, including guarding against damage, trespass, theft and other anti-social activities.
To work with the Ealing Council to maintain and develop Framfield Allotments.
To co-operate with other local allotment and gardening associations in matters of mutual interest.
To promote cultivation and horticultural knowledge, encouraging the conservation of wildlife and the natural environment.
To organise activities for the benefit of all plot holders, including improvements to site conditions and facilities; fundraising; social events; support of new and less able plot holders.
To develop and strengthen links with the local community.

Subsequently, Framfield Allotments Association signed a Local Management Agreement with Ealing Council, delegating day-to-day management of Framfield Allotments to the Association.
